A political mystery is finally solved.

“PAK LAH and the DAP ‘pakat’ (conspiracy) says Mahathir, the ex-PM a while ago!!!

I am surprised Mahathir still assumes we Malaysians WANT to hear his views. He assumes we NEED to hear from him and he TELLS us what he wants to say, without wondering if we really want to hear from him.

He attacks Pak Lah, but let me just re-collect Mahathir’s Top 10 Greatest “Hits” when he was in Power :-

1. BMF Scandal

2. Bank Bumiputra Bail out, with Hundred of Million Ringgit lost

3. 1988 Judicial Crisis

4. 1987 Collapse of UMNO

5. Perwaja Steel

6. MAS and Tajuddin

7. Amendments of Constitution – example : Adding in Article 121A without proper interpretation, leaving the current state of the law of conflicts, in a mess. The PM who prefers to amend the Constitution when the Law is in conflict with the Constitution, when it should be the other way round.

8. 1987 Ops Lalang – an abuse of ISA

9. The Anwar sacking and the Trials that followed

10. The introduction of a new culture of corruption and abuse of power in Malaysia.

(and I am sure this list is not exhaustive – feel free to add in)

No change in UMNO quota system

11 04 2008

PM

The quota system will maintained at Umno’s elections in December, said Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. The Prime Minister, who is also Umno president, said Umno’s Supreme Council (MT) had decided that it would be maintained. Umno would have to hold an extraordinary general assembly if it wanted the system changed, he told reporters after chairing a meeting of the National Council on Islamic Religious Affairs, here today. Under the quota system, a presidential aspirant needs at least 30 per cent or 57 of the 191 divisions in the party to nominate him or her. For the deputy president’s post it is 20 per cent (nominations from a minimum of 38 divisions), vice present 10 per cent (19 divisions) and MT member five per cent(10 divisions).

11 04 2008

Tried my luck and email some complaints on the increase of crimes.  Guess what? 2 replies in a week, one fr his dept and one fr bkt aman.  At least an action is taken though the PM did not read it personally (I strongly believe so).  The following are what transpired in my correspondences:

“Terima kasih atas keperihatinan pihak tuan. Mohon jasa baik tuan bagi memberikan alamat yang lebih spesifik bagi kejadian yang tuan sebutkan dalam e-mail tuan bertarikh 04/04/2008 agar memudahkan pihak kami mengambil tindakan yang sewajarnya.

Terima kasih.

Whoosh, safe for the time being…

11 04 2008

After reading the front page of the STAR today, at least to a certain extent the rakyat do not need to worry of any riots, demos or those questions pondered below.  Anwar Ibrahim assures that the Opposition will not table a motion of no confidence against the PM, nor any move to oust him yet…
