Anwar has enough supporter to topple the govt? Part II
16 04 2008BYE-BYE TO PAK LAH?
Last night at about 8 pm, Alan Tang called me to inform that he received news of BN is in a critical situation pertaining to the above question. His sources (reliable?) confirm that indeed Anwar is ready to make history anytime he wants to. I disagree, of course looking into the recent reports and hearsays from some of my political allies and enemies. Below are some of the comments pertaining to the same subject matter:
James Chin, political science professor at Monash University’s Kuala Lumpur campus, said coalition MPs were ready to defect because of UMNO infighting and uncertainty over Abdullah’s leadership.
“It is true MPs are waiting to jump. They will do it for money and power,” he told.
“Abdullah is fighting for his political life and Anwar is pouring oil onto the fire by stating that he has enough defectors to form the next government.”
Tricia Yeoh from the Centre for Public Policy Studies said Anwar was highlighting his ability to form the government in order to “inject in people’s mind that there can be an alternate government.”
“My gut feeling says yes. He has been rallying support in East Malaysia. It will be risky for him to lie,” she said, when asked if he had enough support to take power.
However, Domestic Trade Minister Shahrir Samad dismissed Anwar’s claims, saying he was not aware of any coalition lawmakers planning to jump.
“Not as far as I know,” he told.
Timbon Herbert Lagadan, a state assemblyman from Sabah, said Anwar’s comments were merely “political rhetoric.”
“I don’t think he will get MPs from Sabah or Sarawak to join him,” he affirms.
“Anwar is a man who cannot be trusted. He promised development for Sabah when he was deputy prime minister and finance minister but he failed to deliver.”
What say you?

S’pore PM: Is internet really the cause? Perhaps not…
16 04 2008THE recent elections in Malaysia have been described as a “political tsunami” brought on chiefly by the Malaysian government’s underestimation of the impact of the Internet.
But for Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, the elections across the Causeway and in Taiwan, both of which saw incumbent ruling parties trounced, held some simple truths.
“My conclusion is this: If the People’s Action Party wants to continue to have the support of the people, it has to maintain an incorruptible and capable government; continue to reflect the wishes of the people; and continue to strive for a better future for Singapore,” said Mr Lee. So to emphasize on website and blog creation now may not be of much help instead of curbing corruption (as discussed below) and initiate a transparent and effective, fair and just government to all races, classes and people in Malaysia.

Who say ‘no truth to land scandal’?
16 04 2008
In response to my below post dated 10.04.08, re Koh T K gave a resounding negative answer to the allegation spread in Penang recently, today’s Malaysiakini: ‘Skandal tanah P.Pinang didedah’ and Star: ‘Land improprieties’ may be made public submitted by CM Lim Guan Eng though no mention of Koh but Rashid the ex-deputy CM. I wonder what he has to expose by tomorrow (beside the premiums)…

‘Would you marry for money?’
16 04 2008Woke up at 6, wanted to jog at the park but the weather discourages so just had some reflection (or some call it as meditation). Back to the office at 7.45am, heard the morning question- answer session at the ‘Light & Easy’ in relation to the title above. Hmmm quite interesting…we heard it in the movies, media but would you do it irregardless of your gender or the partner’s age (the rich onelah).
For a start, I would say: ‘Why not?’, so long as the other party has a good heart or is a nice person because the relationship/love can be developed over time. Or if she is Paris Hilton, I’ll be there in a flash!
After all $ may not buy everything but without $ you are nothing!
Agree or not, that’s the general public perception around the world, among your friends, relatives and colleagues – that is how people judges one another. To them money also equals to power. When you are rich, whatever you say attract more attention, conversely if you are an ordinary or poor person, perhaps a glimpse if not as a transparent figure. Unless you are a confident, strong-minded person (like me?) and living with principles/dignity, who the hack care about what you say or do…I had went through a period whereby my wallet left with a few dollars, believe me it was the worst time & feeling I ever had. A friend, Ryan Chwa who has a strong conviction that money is God! He believes that not only one must possess materials and luxurious stuffs to gain acknowledgment or personal satisfaction (as claimed), that is the fact of life. Inevitable to him the best thing to buy in terms of quality are the expensive ones…so spending thousands of dollars for shirts within minutes was indeed a satisfaction. The poor or ordinary will disagree with this contention as they just don’t understand that feelings!
In any event, motivators, financial experts as in ‘Millionaire Next Door’, ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ etc have always advised the odds that never invest or buy things that will depreciate in value or if you really like it buy with cash. So will you marry a 70 year old billionaire?
