Kah Choon calls it a day!

23 04 2008

As expected, after all the controversies and critics, Datuk Lee Kah Choon has decided to leave Gerakan.

He said to press: “Dengan ini, saya harap perkara ini akan selesai dan kita boleh meneruskan langkah untuk mengendalikan tugas-tugas penting,”.  So being in Gerakan sudah tak penting lagi?

Hopefully he will not join the Pakatan, otherwise we shall know his real intention, like mentioned below, this is what he has planned…

In an unrelated story, Bush just won in Pennsylvania against Obama, what a ping-pong!

Believe it or not, Anwar is in a dilemma.

23 04 2008

[Latest at 8.05pm:  Anwar told Malaysiakini that he will be the PM within 3 years!  What a political statement, that can simply means tomorrow or next week!  Hmm real cunning, is he a trustworthy person?]

Had lunch with a group of tai-kos (ah longs, bookies, dealers, pirated dvd producers).  Surprisingly one of them mentioned about my blog and requested more juicy and simple English write ups.  Inevitably our conversation starts of with the Champion league match this morning, what a luck to Chelsea!  Guess what? The bookie has created a betting-pool out there to allow punters to bet on whether Pak Lah’s resignation is within 3 months time.  The odds?  If yes, win 90 lose 75 and if no, win 68 lose 100, macam-macam boleh berlaku in M’sia!

After 2 weeks of observation particularly in relation to Anwar’s agenda by talking to Wan Azizah, Nurul and Siva (of course the wife & daughter were very conservative but I still managed to use my utmost psychology skills…), I am inclined to believe that Anwar is currently in a dilemma!

First of all my question is whether Anwar a changed man (esp after 6 years of imprisonment)?  A leopard will never change its spots!  If we are to scrutinise Anwar’s era as DPM as well as the Finance/Education Minister, what has he actually done for the good of the nation?  Few may realised that one of disaster caused by him was the Ops Lallang - putting spies into the Chinese schools, poor Kim Sai became the scapegoat – cabut to Australia.  So will he become a good PM or can he become one?  I am agreeable with many out there that his ultimate aim is to become the PM.  Is it true that he has enough supporters to oust the current government?  I doubt so.  Will he rejoin UMNO if Pak Lah invited him (though unlikely as Najib & gang will object)?  Most likely as that will be the best platform to achieve his aim.  But what about his followers, are they agreeable?  Ahh there is where he is stucked…He had indeed put in tremendous effort in the last election and the multi-racial candidates did played a vital role.  Thanks to PM’s 13 days campaign period by allowing him to travel nationwide.  Should have call the election after his dateline to prevent such occurence.

Ok Anwar has successfully recruited many non-Malays to be in his party which was also another factor that led to his victory.  This is his main concern now as he has to be accountable to them otherwise if PKR is a Malay-based party, things will be much easier to compromise his return to UMNO.  I’m sure there are times he questions himself: “did I made the right move by allowing multi-racial leaders in the party?”.  It would not requires a super intelligent person to check his background or what sought of mentality he has during his university life.

It was also estimated about RM200 millions were spent during the election, where the hack did he has got so much money??  Did he sacrifice from his own pocket?   Again I doubt so, this is where Dr.M’s statement contains some element of truth, the nation will be a slave to the Jewish (US) if he becomes the PM.  Meaning?  Foreign funding, kena ikut arahanlah!  Why and what for?  That we have to ask him as what is RM200 mil for the Americans.  So my dear readers, evaluate wisely whether should he be our next PM although you may think that being an ordinary citizen, it makes no difference to you at the end of the day.

Leavelah Gerakan, my dear Kah Choon!

23 04 2008

Gerakan Wanita head Datuk Tan Lian Hoe had called on Lee Kah Choon to surrender his party membership after accepting posts in two Penang government agencies. “He should resign because all Gerakan members have seen what he has done,”. She said Lee must leave Gerakan without waiting for the Gerakan leadership to decide it for him. The party would not break up if Lee’s membership was withdrawn, she said. “We have seen the solidarity spirit of party members is still strong through Lee has relinguished party posts,” said Tan who is Deputy Information Minister. Two days ago, Penang CM Lim Guan Eng announced Lee’s appointment as Penang Development Corporation director and InvestPenang chairman. Pak Lah said Lee’s decision to accept the posts was against the coalition’s spirit and he should have conferred with the Gerakan leadership first.  I think it will be ideal if he just get out and be a good director but of course the consequence of his personal & political ethics being jeered and criticised will be another story.  Perhaps this was his plan all this while?

Oh yes, Tan LH also confirms that live telecast of parliamentary debate will last only half an hour for a start.  I like the way she use the word ’solidarity spirit’, that reminds me of recent stand against critics that Gerakan is ‘irrelevant’ now as per Chai and Gerakan ‘macam kapal sudah tenggelam’ said Rahim.

Bukit Gasing court case

23 04 2008

8.35 am Kuala Lumpur High Court R1:

Last week tackle mak, now anak pulak…

On the last hearing the residents were also granted leave to quash the decision of the Kuala Lumpur mayor not to hold a public hearing on the application by Gasing Meridian Sdn Bhd (GMSB) for a development order.

Judge Lau Bee Lan directed the mayor, who is the respondent in the case, to forward a copy of the reports and documents pertaining to the application by GMSB to the residents at least a month before the next court hearing.

The documents would include reports from a geological survey, soil structure and soil stability evaluations, proposed geohazard monitoring, hydrology report, environmental impact assessment (EIA), traffic impact analysis and social impact analysis from the authorities.

Also to be submitted are proposed site and lay-out plans, the earthwork plan with sections, the development report and documents produced by experts or consultants engaged by GMSB.

In their grounds of application, the residents, represented by counsel R. Sivarasa, said the mayor had erred in law and acted in excess of his jurisdiction when he wrote the letter stating that the procedure for hearing objections would not be implemented as it would violate existing rules and regulations.

The residents claimed the mayor had failed to take into account that they had a right under common law to be given due notice and to be given a chance to voice their opinions in the decision-making process of planning.

They stated that the mayor had acted in contrary to the policy and intent of the Federal Territory (Planning) Act 1982 (Act 267).  Hopefully now with the Pakatan people around, things can be more transparent and in accordance to the law.  Am I saying that the oppositions are of high calibre as wakil rakyat, that’s for you to interpret…

The Act also required the preparation of a local plan for Kuala Lumpur, which would have given not just adjoining owners, but all persons in the Federal Territory, a right to be heard in respect of the development plan for their area.  The residents said the proposed development of 71 bungalows would be on steep hill slopes.

They also claimed that the 13 major landslides which had occurred in the Klang Valley and nationwide since 1993 provided ample proof of the real dangers in carrying out development projects on such steep slopes.
These included a landslide which was apparently caused by hill slope development in 1971 which severely damaged six government owned bungalows along Jalan Tanjung, Bukit Gasing.  Thanks to lawyer Fernandez who shared the precise facts and his views on this matter to me.

Lau proceed today for an inter-parte hearing for the residents’ application to stop all further proceedings and actions by the mayor in respect of the application for planning permission by GMSB, pending the disposal of the inter-parte hearing for judicial review.

[Indeed Anwar's daughter (Nurul) does has a great complexion!]
