Again, well said, Andy!

It's trully dishearted seeing own party members belittling our party and attacking each other. it just doesn't make any sense to me. I just have a word to say guys, u prove urselves to be unworthy members! We can criticise but constructively and positively with suggestions which i believe party leaders are reading them! like Andy does here!

Sean,
if you read clearly what the writter Koh Lay Chin said, that person is actually making Gerakan look like a fool.
The best part is when he wrote about what that person name David (from the youth wing) said…..
“Indeed, after the 2008 general election, there were ideological discussions about whether the party should leave the BN or merge with other parties. Still, David Ang, who is one of the youth wing’s vice-presidents, says the party’s adherence to multiracial unity and integrity is unshaken.”

This just show that gerakan, especially the youth wing is still either naive (as little boys) or just plain stupid in making silly comments to press.

I am also suprise to see that there is actually a real malay in gerakan. Anyway, what role is he playing in gerakan? Just a mascot?

DENIAL SYNDROME, that basically sums it up. A puppet in BN. Instead of "voice of reason" ended up compromising to serve master Umno. In exchange a few cabinet positions are given. Also none of the Gerakan MPs or Aduns are vocal to voice for the people but merely using soft approach, so that the leaders or Umno will not be offended. This influence all the leaders young and old to follow suit. As a result no genuine cause of its own. With that, how to be relevant?

Even if to leave Bn, Gerakan will be more or less the same unless there is a real hero to make it a difference which there is none now. To join PR has better hope in terms of winning election but the party will be very much remain the same as puppet within PR. Headache, headless and useless. Think for yourself andyyong if you really want to struggle a good cause, people in Gerakan will not want to understand or have the courage to make a difference.

andy,

I think it is very obvious that the rakyats perceived Parti Gerakan as a party just because it has been there since 60s. Whatever had been done or is doing by Parti Gerakan does not take any genious or a warrior to do it, that means anyone can do it. Not to mention its position outside of Penang island, it is practically useless. In fact many organisations and NGOs are even more relevant than this party. Why does it ends up this way, only the leaders and members to blame. What is the motive to be in Gerkan? What is there to attract others to join? NONE!

Be smart andy, dont waste time, the fact is the fact.

Dont want to be mean but tell me one thing that Gerakan intiated and executed for public good recently. Following or echoing others is the only things Gerakan leaders are good at now. Agree with SS, Gerakan members are no more the fighters and Puthucheary has correctly said it is all because of being in BN.

It is the degrading members of Gerakan that will ruin the party. The trend like a typical umno or mca party - character of ulterior-motive, selfish and power hungry is worrying, therefore no reason to support this party. Sadly this also happens in the youth, not becasue if the chief but the culture. It seems there are no more sincere and motivated fighter, so how to be relevant?

Interesting article, very much like a reconstruction of my previous 5 posts, relatively of the same topic this year.

This is politics. Until Gerakan is dissolved, it is for the members to have that conviction whether we are still relevant or not. Politics is not only about pleasing others but also the spirit among the family struggling for a good cause.

In our developed political scenario, the BC is doing a great job to organise such talk. Family affairs should be handled at home not by outsiders. Many have been asking what is the purpose of the party constitution if ROS can overrules it? What if there is a bureaucracy and dirty jobs involved to influence ROS? Interesting...

andyyong,

Most importantly is to eliminate all forms of discrimination and abuse among people of all races. Not only in schools, the govt must promote a positive and healthy image for critical thinking, love of country, social responsibility and the spirit of 1Malaysia effortlessly. The risk behaviour of those racist politicians and leaders must be dealt with seriously.

The Govt of the day play a very important role here. The religious groups, conservatives and rural folks need be educated and guided on the importance of national development and unity in our country. Will the politicians allow that? We may never get rid of the racial barrier completely but if can follow Singapore's footstep on this issue, that will be enough.

This is the right way to go on for the youth in Malaysia. Create sosial awareness on many issues - politic, climate etc other than just how to make money!

I totally agree with the points stated above but i will not make it an issue as i still can use the word Tuhan but i feel for those who have used Allah for so long time, not easy to let go or change. I do agree Gov should be more accomodative here in this issue.
